With only half of current distribution circuits able to handle new power sources, the traditional solution of replacing poles and restringing wires is painfully slow and costs millions of dollars per circuit. Recognizing the need for a pragmatic alternative, founders Charles Murray and Lane Nelson launched Switched Source. Their solution, the Phase-EQ device, acts as a "smart traffic cop" for electricity by dynamically rebalancing power flows to unlock 10-20% more capacity on existing lines. The device is also 6-10x cheaper than traditional upgrades and can be installed in about six months without interrupting service.
